This week our class learned about liquids and solids. We experimented with making ice cream and asked the essential question "Is ice cream a liquid or a solid?". Unfortunately, our experiment never turned into ice cream, but we had a fun time trying, and discovered that ice cold vanilla milk is pretty tasty. Scientists learn as much from failed experiments as successful ones. We will try again in the future and change one of our ingredients to see if that makes a difference.
In math, we are working on number cardinality and collaborating to solve problems. Kindergartners are doing a great job working together!
We continue to celebrate everyone's unique traits. Kindergarteners are really enjoying getting to be the child of the day as well as listening to the special things each child of the day has to share. Every child has something unique that should be celebrated. This week our class joined Cate in singing "Let it Go" after she shared that she was good at singing, but was a little shy to do it on her own. It was really heartwarming to see and hear the class supporting their friend.
Kindergartners also got an extra trip to the computer lab last week. We will be going every Friday afternoon for thirty minutes. We will play educational games and learn the basics of computer technology.
This week we look forward to a learning about fall and a special trip to the Berry Patch farm. It should be lots of fun!
