We explored movement and trying new things on our field trip to Berry Patch Farms. Kindergartens ventured through mazes, walked around live animals, enjoyed a bumpy hay ride, and learned about the pumpkin lifestyle. We enjoyed discovering a new place with our friends.
In math, we used our pumpkin and math skills to answer the question:"How can we measure our pumpkins?" Kindergartners counted unifix cubes and rulers to measure height. They also used measuring tapes for the circumference, and a scale to measure the weight. We compared our pumpkins to our friends' pumpkins. We also drew and labeled detailed pictures of our pumpkin and recorded our individual pumpkin's data.
We concluded the week with a special Appalachian Dance taught by our amazing dance teacher Mrs. Fegley. All the kindergarten classes joined together to learn new movements, try new things, and celebrate one another while learning a new dance. It was wonderful to have our Park Hill kindergarten students working together as a community. Most importantly, they had lots of FUN while doing it. At Park Hill Elementary, kindergarten students are ongoing learners!
